Royal Haeger, U.S.A.

Before/After Owl

Well it is just my luck…

I found this “Owl Planter” at a second hand shop today for $8. So I brought it home and painted it up to be cuter. After painting it I turn it over to see that it has a stamp on the bottom that says “Royal Haeger, U.S.A.” so I decided to look it up online to maybe see if it was worth anything.

Turns out it is a rare piece and is listed in “Haeger Potteries through the years” valued at $100+.

Lesson learned. Always look it up before I paint it!

Although it’s super cute now. It is probably worth nothing.

  1. Wellllllllllllllllll, what kind of paint did you use?

I have gotten paint off pottery before. It isn’t easy, but it is doable.

Not that I think you need to get it off, just sayin’.

  2. I would like to know where you looked the price up online??
I have a vase I am trying to date and determine if it has value #R1702

  3. There is an owl like that on ebay right now with a buy it now price of 35.99. There s scads of Haeger stuff on ebay and none of it is bringing a high bid so I doubt you really ruined a treasure. Hope that makes you feel better!

  4. I to have a Bowl that I purchased at a Goodwill and its stamped Royal Haeger #317-H can’t seem to find anything about it. What website did you find your information on. Just curious if its worth anything.
